the interactive digital center (idc) project is the fruit of a partnership between usaid, eon reality, the mohammed vi polytechnic university (um6p), the agency of digital development (add), mohammed v university in rabat, the moroccan ministry of industry, investment, trade and digital economy (moi) and the moroccan ministry of national education, vocational training, higher education and scientific research (moe). the idc will be hosted within the um6p, located in the city of ben guerir, in the region of marrakech-safi. the idc will bring augmented and virtual reality technology and solutions to morocco to transfer knowledge in a more efficient way for businesses and students alike. the idc provides access to state of the art xr technologies including a virtual showroom, a development lab and a research and development hub for products and applications. the idc also hosts a virtual reality innovation academy to teach students how to create xr content and applications for industry and education. these skills will enable them to perform in fields ranging from architecture and product visualization to video game creation and multimedia design, while also bolstering the workforce with new highly trained employees each year. furthermore, the idc supports the creation of new startups and will assist industrial companies to grow a digital economy, in line with morocco’s government strategy of digital transformation and industry 4.0.
